Description

Securing major public events against the threat of nuclear and radiological terrorism requires States to adopt strong nuclear security systems and measures. IAEA assists the Member States by issuing structured guidance for hosting a major public event (IAEA Nuclear Security Series No. 18) and providing technical support in this regard. The threat detection by instruments during major public events requires hands-on training on concepts of operation of such devices, best selection and deployment of devices, and maintenance.  As part of ENRRA’s role of sharing the experience with the international community, especially the African countries, ENRRA hosts a training course on equipment performance verification for Cameroon organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency from 8 to 12 August 2021.
